Segmenting and Target Market

Jordan's target market was slightly different when they first came out. There target market was men ages 18 to 35 when first released. They were bought mainly to play basketball with, and also like I present day for style. However, in present day no one boys Jordan's to play basketball on them because they are too expensive to ruin. The market in my company is very strong because Jordan's consumers have a real willingness to buy. A great example of that is having many people pre order their Jordan's and also camp in line until the Jordan's come out. Jordan's marketing segment contains many consumers, especially teenagers, who have many of the same wants when it comes to Jordan's. I say this because teens pretty much want every Jordan that comes out.
Satisfiers play a big roll in Jordan's consumers being that many consumers pre order their Jordan's and make sure they get the best price for the Jordan's and even take advantage of deals that the website including free shipping and other deals.
As of now when it comes to repositioning, Nike signing Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul, and allowing them to be a part of the Jordan line, as opposed to players like Lebron James who are signed with Nike and has his own line which isn't under Jordan's.

Developing and Managing Products

Jordan's have always come out with new colors of sneakers, however they aren't brand new sneakers that are new toyhe world. In fact they are mostly re release of older Jordan's that customers love. They usually come out with new colors but not so much as new designs.
What is brand new with Jordan's are the new chris Paul 6s. They are brand new to the world and it something new to Jordan's. It amazed me how Nike chose to build a new type of sneaker, under the Jordan brand. They took the NBA star Chris Paul and put his shoe under Jordan's instead of regular Nike, so they could increase sales. They also do this with the NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony. This is an example of test marketing because its a limited introduction unless the sneaker becomes really successfull and self a lot. It's also an exams of commercialization be sure this was a decision of how to market the new sneakers. The Chris Paul's 6s are in the growth stage where the company is seeing and increasing rate of consumers who want this sneaker. I ask myself and I would ask you, Do you think that the Chris Paul sneaker would make as much sales if they weren't under Jordan's?
